Re: Possible FM radio App

hmm seems that this program was mainly intended for the raphael and not the CDMA TP

yea, but I use my own headphones with the USB to 3.5mm adapter. The phone still pops up with the headphone icon and I don't think it matters though.

no just a generic one, from what I understand, the radio uses the wires in the headphones as antennas, so as long as a circuit is established, as indicated by the headphone icon, it should be ok. Hopefully someone else can verify with the HTC headphones that came with the phone.

Supposedly it takes a while after you close it for it to fully close. Either way, it can't find a signal so the program is useless for us poor CDMA folk.

Didn't work for me either using oem or reatil headphones.

Re: Possible FM radio App

very saddening, guess we'll just have to wait for the TP2 and hope HTC decided to have it stay enabled for CDMA carriers.

A while back there was a company selling headphones that acted as an FM receiver. I wish I still had the link. Search maybe? I'd like to see someone with those try this program.

The cdma tp2 will not have the fm radio because the phone is intended as a business phone, so was the tp.

yea but if the GSM versions had them, there's always hope. The fact that HTC put it in there and then disabled it is mind boggling.

They used to say that about GPS on the Mogul. How many people said it 100% absolutely couldn't be done because the phone didn't have the hardware?

Darkjedi 07-01-2009 01:24 PM

Re: Possible FM radio App

it was mentioned on the other thread that no2chem, who was working on the FM radio for CDMA devices and probably one of the smartest programmers for these phones, was stuck on trying to figure it out.

If that's true, we'd probably have a better chance waiting for the TP2 to come out and hope it has FM radio enabled.
