I need help from ROM Flashers or master cooks!

I need help from those with experience...

I have a quick question and i am new at flashing. I have unlocked and flashed a ROM succesfully several times now but today i tried new different ROMS and the phone immediatly disconnects from the computer and restarts itself. I have made sure i established a connection through activesync but no new ROM and this message on my phone screen.

" .mscr and .mortrun extensions registered. Please run any .mscr/.mortrun file or read the manual". What does this mean?

Okay, what do i do now?

How are you flashing? I assume through usb, but just want to verify. At what point during the flash does it disconnect? I know you say immediately, but immediately after what?

That message has to do with mortscirpt, nothing to do with flashing. usually shows up on my phone everytime i soft reset since mortscript is set to launch itself on boot. You should try and flashing by sd card, its really simple and you dont have to worry about losing the connection to active sync.

go to windows/startup and delete mortscript

Nope that didnt do it. There is a quick message that comes up right before the bootloader screen and the only word i can read is "Failed"...agh!

I'm assuming he's using activesync or windows mobile device center.
And that would mean that the disconnecting and reconnecting is normal.
It should disconnect from activesync once it goes into bootloader mode on your phone,
and then it reconnects without activesync and runs the RUU.

It's better to just put the phone into bootloader mode manually(described in a post above), and then just plug it into the usb cable and run the RomUpdateUtility.exe
10 times faster & safer.

I don't think it's the MortScript that's causing this issue... I get those messages as well, sometimes right after I restart the phone, or when I'm not getting any service.

Are you sure you're flashing the correct ROM's meant for your phone? The invalid model message you get sounds oddly familiar...

I agree Mortscript is not the problem...I have re-read all the ROM discriptions and all seem to be for the CDMA Touch Pro/Diamond- Grove ROM 5, JONRom, ect...

Sounds like a bad ROM flash. Try flashing via SD card.
Find a rom and copy the .NBH file from it onto the root of your SD card and rename it to RAPHIMG.NBH. Boot into bootloaded mode (tri-color screen) and see if it will flash that way.

I agree flashing from the SD card is the only way for me. It's safe and easy. And you can do it anywhere

Ill give it a try but the thread seems really confusing to me. I suppose it will be a trial and error type situation.

What causes a bad flash? BTW cooper and Mighty5 both flash but no others.

Re: I need help from ROM Flashers or master cooks!

u know, I had that once. My phone somehow had become relocked. How to fix it, you ask?

1. rerun spl unlocker.
2. opem up the Rom rar file u want to use.
3. pull out the .nbh file and make sure it is named RAPHIMG.nbh.
4. copy nbh file to yer phones SD card.
(if the computer wont sync to the phone, pull the sd card out and put it in a card reader and copy the nbh fiile to the root of the card.)
5. reinsert the card if need be.
6. hold down the power button, volume down, and hit the soft reset button.(this puts u in bootloader update mode.)
7. hit power button when it tells u to.
8. hit soft reset when it says update successful.
9. let it do its initial load.
10. hard reset the phone and set it up the way u like.

You can't flash Diamond roms on Touch Pro.

Flash from your SD card. Read the stickies.

There is a Diamond version and a Touch Pro version. Are you sure you have the correct one?

I would suggest that you do the following:

Download the ship (stock) Sprint rom, and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file from the .exe with winrar. Then put the .nbh on your sd card, and rename to RAPHIMG.nbh (I think -- check the stickies for this name, I'm not a TP owner), and flash to the ship rom via SD. Then let it load until you see the first "tap here" screen. Then plug your device in, and flash to grooveROM (Touch Pro edition). 99.9% chance that will work with no issues.
