not really.
don't see how pimbackup can screw up.
it saves the backup file.
therefore, if the program fails,
you just reinstall it,
and then restore once again.
I don't use activesync unless I'm using a program on my desktop that needs it to connect to the device. Other than that, I don't sync using it.

ive never sync a cab in from desktop to my device(i keep a storage card in my laptop and save to my card and swtch it in or email it over,depends how big it is) i do ALL my ppcgeekinfrom my laptop, ive never even hooked my TP up to this..i run active sync on an older model XP machine i still have... so ive never ran across 1 thing that needed to be sync in first.... what program "needs" it to be like that???

plenty of programs broseph.
i like to be able to type texts from my computer while my phone is docked.
sometime i use other programs that control my ppc from the dekstop.
its mainly for programming type stuff.
theyre all pay programs though.
