I have alltel with a HTC Touch Pro and I'm not paying the tethering plan, but I deleted a file in the registry allowing me to connect to my vista pc and get 2mbps+ download. But every once in a while it disconnects and gives me that annoying message and I have to reconnect. I'm running xbox live over it on my network so I can't deal with disconnect all the time.
Any help would be great.

only time its done that to me was 1st time i tried it... did the tethering cab and never happened again... i use wmwifi anyways now though...

give it some time hedggie no need to bump so often, but +1 wmwifi granted it isnt free but it does work great! It does have a trial version tho.

christ man.... use wmwifi trial... search for wmwifi v.91 thats free

use the free HTC wifirouter....

look at my sig, theres all your tethering options

and google isnt broken, you are allowed to also search for an answer yourself

Trial lasts 30 days though doesn't? And whats HTC wifirouter? Also I dunno if I computer picks up wifi I think it does.

This should not be considered flaming in any form of the word.

In all honesty if you DID search "like ALOT", you would have found WMWifirouter and HTC Wifi router... easily.

I mean Christ, HTC Wifi router and numerous others are on the FIRST PAGE STICKY of the Touch Pro forum that you just posted in!

Another point in fact is that the same thread I just mentioned was started by boredandtattooed who just tried to help you!

In all seriousness, please try to be more courteous to the people that are trying to help you by

a) not bumping your thread constantly. People here actually search through the different pages trying to help others rather than just reading the first few headings.

b) trying "ALOT" harder to find an answer on your own

and

c) contributing a little to the community rather than just asking for help.

As boredandtattooed stated +1 for HTC Wifi Router.

Didnt i just say that i was looking for a free fix? And I tried HTC wifi router and my pc doesn't pick it up. I know it can get wifi. I'm only bumping so often because I've had this problem for so long, look at the date of the first post. And I got no new answers since I bumped it recently.

are you running stock rom or a custom rom? if you're on stock, you might want to try a custom rom... that's what i've been using since day one and i haven't had a single issue with ics

I never did understand why people get all bent out of shape at others comments. The guy is just looking for help, and besides others are interested in fixes for the code 67 error that occurs when the remote host disconnects. Like myself. If people get agitated so easily over a post, then perhaps they need to rethink Forum usage. I am actively looking for a solution also, will post on what I find.

Hey do you use a data plan of limited monthly usage your carrier may be cutting you off by the excess amount of bandwith (spell check) your are using.

I was having the issue on and off all summer too, but it's been better lately.
the only thing I could ever attribute it to was setting my phone to evdo only. I just assume that would cause an issue if the signal faded.

does the standard tethering built into roms like mightymikes latest run in a sort of "stealth" so that carriers can't tell?

every ROM the chefs are doing whatever the current trick is to try best to keep every from the carriers....

now, remote party has ended connection.... all that is, is you losing signal.... same with the error 67 code..... if you go into comm manager after either of those happen, youll notice your data had been switched off.... you either switched into 1x or went into Roam.... all u have to do is turn your data back on, disconnect, then reconnect the cable.....and Presto....

theres no trick, no hack, no file, no cab that can stop this...... both errors are based on your signal at the time

I was getting that problem,it could be cause ur active profile is set rong.on the dialer type in ##3282# the view and look to see what the active profile says and post it.
