Best Rom for verison TP

I have looked and have note really found anything definitive on the subject. There a lot of good ROM's available. However the verizon touch pro is pretty lame compared to other carriers. What is the best rom for us verizon users. I have heard great things about all of the ssk roms. Mighty's Roms look awsome also but I don't know if it would be the best us of such limited hardware. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Another question I have is about flash from the SD card. I know it can be done I have seen the threads but what about when you want to cook it yourself using a kitchen. How is that done?

MOD's if there is already threads answering these questions please PM me the links and delete this thread. Thanks to all.

I didn't have as much luck with SSK, I've found Mighty (both 4 and 5) to be very stable. At the risk of severe public harassment, I actually think the stock MR1 update runs just as well, without some of the bells and whistles.

I have had the best luck with this ROM by far:

(4-25-09) Touch Pro2 Rom! (CE OS 5.2.21028 Build 21028.1.6.0 CFAY)

I think it all comes down to the page pool. Verizon is so crippled with its ram that any page pool above 16 just eats too much memory. I also like SSK's roms

Check out Merdin's as well

There is a pagepool changer that I believe can be used to change any ROM image (.nhb). Mighty's ROMs come with it bundled. I set pagepool to 8 and I'm running beautifully.

Check DCD's ROM thread, pretty sure he put something out for VZW users.

I like SSK's kitchen. I used Mighty5 for a while and liked that one too. For his I had to install a cab to change the length of SMS to 160 but that and the pagepool were the only things I had to change.

I think for the most part it will come down to personal preference. Just change the pagepool to 6-12 meg and you should be fine.

finally something i can speak about..
i have tried about every one's roms.. many great one's ,,but for us verizon people.. Silence has the best option for us by far for stability and enough bling to satisfy..
Download Silence Rom X 6.1 Final

the verizon tp isn't *that* crippled that you should worry about which rom to pick based on its less than too much ram. i don't know about anyone else with a cdma non verizon tp, but i don't exceed 60% of my ram, if i was missing some, i probably wouldn't even notice. btw, i'm running mighty5. you should definitely keep to a pagepool that's 16mb or lower though.

I'm guessing you're not using TF3D then? I like it too much to give it up, but can occasionally have memory shortages when doing heavy browsing in Opera.

I am in total agreement with you. I have the SSK 2.1.1 with WM6.5 and it is sweet. Thanks to all for your help.

I had run Mighty's rom on my phone and liked everything about it but the battery life still wasn't that good for me. I have the Telus radio installed also. I switched to SSK's new rom for 6.1 and I love it and how it runs. You can tell when it switches off the data connection for you because the data arrows turn grey when not in use and I think this was the biggest battery drain when I was using Mighty's rom. They are both great roms, it's just that SSK's works the best for me.

I run SSK 2.0 kitchen and its amazing the difference between stock rom. i cooked it with black manilla and put xbmods manilla hd beta theme over it and it works great (i tried to cook it in but for some reason it wouldn't work when i slide out the keyboard so this was my other option to get touchflo in landscape)

When i boot i've gotten as low as 59% usuage, but usually its 62%. also CleanRam helps alot to keep the usuage low without having to manually clean up your phone (comes with the rom/can be cooked into the kitchen)

FYI I have also heard that lllboredlll's rom works well with the vzw touch pro too, but i have not used it personally
