Internet Sharing is down.
 

My new Touch Pro unlike my old one has tons of problems sharing the internet. I used the same sharing .cab but when I hit the connect button it just stays gray and never says connected. Sometimes the screen will say cannot get server assigned ip address. What is going on how do I fix this?

Is this a hard reset thing? It worked a little for a few days. Now it's going crazy. Sometimes active sync isn't acting right either.

Use this. Soft reset afterwards. It's always worked for me to fix what you're describing, hopefully it will work for you too.

Ya it's stock, I tried that fix nothing, same thing. I'm backing it u now and will just do a hard reset and hope I mangled something that can be un mangled I guess. What about the cable? It just said USB device not recognized, I never got that before.

do a hard reset then re install the cab

Make sure you have a good cable, try reinstalling activesync, make sure your not in disk drive mode. Get a custom rom.

Agreed. Most custom ROMs will having Internet Sharing working out the gates.

Did the hard reset, and loaded my crap back in and applied patch. Works better than new. Odd. Not sure what I did. I have to consider a custom rom. Would save time instead patching the phone with cab after cab.

Definitely,
Custom roms have all the essential apps/tweaks you probably would start installing after a hard reset already cooked in. For example Internet sharing fixes, .net cf 3.5, and other neccesarry things/tweaks you need but are not on a stock rom.

sweet and is there a cab for the internet sharing app that comes with the pro?

For Sprint I found on some custom roms you need to install the fix and then go under connections and edit the name of the data connection to "Sprint" before Internet Sharing will give you the connect option.
