Comparison of Battery Performance with Various ROMs?

Has anyone done much testing in the way of battery performance with various custom ROM's?

I came across the setup speed test thread and thought it would be interesting if someone did a comparison of slightly more pertinent performance like battery optimization and "snappy-ness" (especially how well the software keeps up with faster typing on the keyboard).

Anyhow if someone has done this it would be great to see

battery performance is VERY subjective, most roms have the same power tweaks, so it all depends on how you use it.

I don't think a valid test can really be done here for at least three reasons:

1) Radio version has a large effect on battery life, so the number of permutations (at least 7 radios to test with each ROM) means an unmanageable set of tests.

2) Just as with radios, geographic location, signal strength, roaming, etc. may affect battery life with different ROMs. This means that a ROM could have different battery life with the same radio in different locations.

3) People use these devices in very different ways. Battery life can be optimized for primary use as a telephone, as an organizer, as a music player, for frequent or constant data access, etc., etc. Best battery life for you and best for me (all other things such as radio and location being equal) may very well not be the same.

All valid points so far. The test would only be useful to the person doing it.

With Juicys ROM sometimes I can go 40 hours before charging and yesterday i went 18 and had to charge. Just depends on how much you use the phone and where.
