plenty of different ways to help increase battery life, like cody said get rid of the stock ROM. Most custom ROM's already have most of the modifications needed. Check your email settings, mine was eating time like crazy until i adjusted the interval. Welcome!!!!!

As stated by everyone else....custom roms are the best. But since u did say u just got a ppc u might not feel ready to jump into flashing roms and what not. Still u can adjust certain settings(turn off the setting to receive all incoming beams, make sure ur data connection isnt active when not browsing the internet, change ur settings to allow ur screen to turn off sooner when not in use, also close all running programs when not in use) some of these should help.

You should look into different radios too. Supposedly Telus is the most efficient radio and alot of custom ROM folk use that radio.
