No Sound
 

I have had my TP for about 2 months now. It came brand new. Yesterday the sound just gave out. I cannot hear music, ringtones, or people when they call me (speakerphone or earpiece). I even tried plugging in my usb headphones and listening to music but i still cannot hear anything. I would assume this means its a software glitch and not a hardware problem. Please Help!!

Also i have read other places that people have had problems like this and simply soft reset. I have tried that multiple times and it has not helped. I even resorted to doing a hard reset twice. Efectivelly i cannot make phone calls and cannot hear when i get text messages. I now have a pda, not a phone!!!

I went through 7 defective Moguls before this and im getting ready to just get this TP replaced and sell it so i dont have to keep getting them fixed

If you have done soft and hard resets i would recommend taking it to a service center and having it looked at. Weird that all forms of sound would go out at once but it could be a problem with the main board that can't be fixed.

I had an old blue angel and the charge port caused the sound to go out. The mic worked but nothing else. If I stuck a paper clip in it would short the connection and make it work until the next time the port got bumped. I've heard of similar issues with the USB port no longer synching with outlook because of a bent pin or bad connection. But like he said take it back to the dealer if its under warranty.

Yeah, sounds like a problem with the board or some hardware issue because if you did a hard reset and it had no effect then there has to be a bad connection somewhere. Take it back where you got it or to a service center and try to get a new one.

I took it to sprint last night. Waited for like an hour and ended up having to call Asurion. I recieved my phone from them. Yesterday was the 31st day!! Luckilly i convinced them to waive the last day because the problem was on the 30th day and i couldnt call because my phone was broken. Im getting a brand new one from them completelly free. Very good customer service.

None the less, i am done with HTC. Ive gone through 8 phones in the past year. Im going to sell the new one and buy a cheap phone, those tend to last.

Sure you dont wanna give it just one more shot bro? Ive had my TP since October of last year, and I have had absolutely nooooo issues with it...Im totally serious, I haven't had to have it replaced at all. Maybe I just got lucky or something, but Ive dropped it from hip height twice to the concrete, just dinged the corners, no problems with the keyboard quitting or anything.....I mean, this has been the best phone I have purchased. Its been very durable and reliable. I don't have a custom rom or anything cause Im not that brave yet lol...dont wanna brick it. My point is I try to take care of my expensive toys, I can't afford much, and this is probably the nicest thing I have next to my computer. I know it pathetic, but I dont have the ipods or anything like that. This does alllll for me and Im 100% satisfied with it...heck, Im not even gonna get the TP2 cause Im so happy with this phone!!
