Suddenly unable to sync. Running stock ROM, did nothing new to phone recently. PC recognizes phone ("connected"). If I try to open Windows Mobile Device Center with phone USBd into PC, the window opens on the screen and there is a red X with "error" next to it. Soft reset phone, reboot PC no help. Also tried unchecking the "enable advanced network functionality" box on the phone under settings. any help greatly appreciated. i tried searching this issue.

try turning off your firewall for that port.

didn't work. sync center states it's connected and synching but there is no data transfer. WMDC won't open- same red X and error.

to see if it's the TP or the PC or the sync cable, change the components: Try a different cable, try a different pc / laptop.

Also: try deleting the partnership and see if it recognizes it now and set up a new one.

I have just the one computer and cable. However, I can transfer to or delete files from the phone from the computer using the cable. I think it's just a sync issue.
