Make a button useless, possible?

I don't trust my TP, the slider is shaky and feels like it's gonna snap any second. I'd like to have it exchanged under warranty but I doubt they will for such reason.

Is there a way to make a button not functional in the OS for example the Volume buttons and leave no trace? (Adv. configuration?)

I know it sounds screwed up but I don't feel like having a big corp tell me that it's not 'broken enough' to have it exchanged. :( And I don't trust a repair job as it is often neglected and the socket for the screw/s holding it all may be loose.

I think you should just try to exchange it without attempting to disable anything. From my experience, some companies do actually care about customer. I had a Vogue that I exchanged through warranty for the storage card door not closing quite right and feeling flimsy. It was almost unnoticable but Sprint was interested in making sure I was satisfied with my purchase and replaced my phone.

Also, my sister has a Mogul. She exchanged it with ease when she told the rep that the 'U' button simply did not work sometimes. No questions asked, no seeing for themselves, they simply swapped the phone.

Honesty is always the best way bro...if that doesnt work, then take it on up the chain...I mean, we pay good hard earned money for a high end device, and I think its only fair that it meet out expectations :)
