pulling out battery for days, lose data?

I'm going out for a multi-day backpacking trip. I want to bring the phone with me for emergencies (if I'm in service). Will I lose any of my data if I pull the battery out for days at a time?

why pull the battery out? just turn the phone off...ive heard conflicting stories about this...i know for some phones, taking the battery out for more than 10 minutes is like doing a hard reset on the phone...others its not.

if your worried about it....get sprite, do a full back up, and if it does erase your data, you can just restore it....

also a simple idea is to buy like a $10 sprint phone off ebay or craigslist, so you at least have a phone, and dont have to worry about destroying your $300 device...

I'm sure you already know this...but be sure to put it in a ziplock bag...just in case it rains or you fall in a creek or something. Happy trails!

Also, think about a solar charger. I picked up a pair of them for $29.00 a couple of years ago. They came with an assortment of tips including mini usb and work with most cell phones and PDA's. I've used them on my Mogul, Touch Pro, and my kids' Samsung and LG phones. They are great because you can either plug them in and charge directly to the device or just leave them in the sun to charge the built-in battery and then plug your device in once you're back in camp for the night. They also work great on airplanes if you're watching a movie, etc.

I'm at work and don't have a link for you but Google solar cell phone charger and you'll find them.

I can definatly see wanting to pull the battery just so you dont accidently turn it on, the TP's arnt exactly known for their stellar battery life.
I would also get one of those little emergency chargers, you can pick em up for next to nothin that are pretty much just a AA battery with a little mini USB pigtail sticking out.
