Text Messages (SMS) - No sound
 

Yeah, so i'm not getting any sound when I get a new text message. This just started today. I've only installed one thing today, but even after I installed it i was still getting sound. Now it's just gone

Suggestions besides doing a hard reset?

did you check settings/sounds and notifications to make sure the "Messaging:New Text message" (Play sound) did not get unchecked by mistake.

Yeah, and i cycled through a few of them but no go.

Oh and my phone still rings with a phone call

hummm...

Soft Reset i guess did not fix the problem also?

Yes "Hardreset" is the last thing that you want to do

turn the volume up. you have a system volume and a ringer volume. system volume is also the volume of the txt messages.

wow....it is not looking good...most of the time a soft reset will fix the problem also.

If you dont have any other programs that deal with "Sounds/Notifications" and have looked everywhere....it just might be "HardReset" time :sad: .....just like always..backup contacts .

Sorry could not help as much with this, most of the time it is pretty easy to fix.

I figured it out. You know the first screen on "Sounds & Notifications"

I didn't realize that second box was unchecked. D'oh! *hangs head in shame*

lol......we all have those days....glad it did not get to a point of requiring a "hard reset" 8)

btw what would of cause the unchecking?

I really don't know, cause I haven't even been on this screen since about two days ago when I changed my ringer.
