Good news: I went to a Sprint repair center, and the tech looked it my number and saw that service bulletin applied to my phone. He got a replacement, provisioned it for me, and I was on my way.

Holy crap, somehow between all the backing-up of the old phone, restoring of the new phone, my 500 contacts ballooned to 15,000!

Most of my contacts have been duplicated 25-35 times! I don't know what the heck could have done this, but it's a very good thing I can code, because I can automate the comparison and removal process.

So, I guess what I'm saying is, that thanks to my problems, you'll soon be able to download a contact cleaning program :)

holy u-know-what man! i would be proud of a phone that looked like that! impressive that it still works. These phones look like they would be easy to accidentally break. i dropped mine a lot now (hehe :)) works great still TP all the way!
