Re: PointUI (Home 2) : Faster than TF3D

Well I just loaded my Touch Pro with all the cool vga themes and applets I could find on the PointUi forum. Pretty sick with what is available AND how friggin easy it is to add to the UI. Also if you like the background on another theme rather than moving the files around you can just change background from the PointUi customize menu and look in the various themes folders for what you want. Some need the auto resize on some don't so if you get a black screen toggle that setting. Also it's best to just have Point set at fullscreen as there is really no need for the windows start bar with all the applets.

I'm loving this so far. So fast and so fluent. I may be saying goodbye to TF3D by the end of the night!

Yeah I already said goodbye. It makes no sense to even bother with TF3D anymore.

Question: How do I get the weather to work? I tried looking through the forums on the website, but nothing would work.

Brushrop3 first you may need to get a login to pointui then:

The default weather in today has no search feature for unlisted cities and required editing the xml. I just put it close to me in New York for now but better to just...

Go here and grab a weather applet. I am using dark matter today, then just click on the gear and search for your city and add it to one of 5 city selections

http://community.pointui.com/topic/t...e-themes-store

Note: all file locations to add applets and themes is in root/program files/home2/AppletRibbon (or Themes)

Some are cabs but most are just transferring the unzipped theme or applet file so make sure you open the first folder to get the next file as they seem to always be double packed and won't work like that. Other than that it's pretty much drag n drop.

Add your applet by clicking the top right upper corner in pointui and choose and empty slot and pick your new applet to use.

Note 2: Some applets get updated and only require to drag the new contents of the update into the applet folder so the replace all would be yes to all.

Yeah, you have to edit the cities files. What happened with me is that I couldn't get my city to work, so I gave up!

I could get the weather to show fine, but it was in Celsius.

It's like in program files/home2/applets/world and today (i think it's today) and there's a cities.xml file that you edit

Since I use inifity (home) it has the weather built in and includes a search function

Oh i'm all for one or the other... celsius is only used you know, the world over hahaha. Makes no sense to me. But yeah there are better/easier apps out there for weather.

The only thing the peeps at ui need are some cabbing skills!

+1 PointUI is faster than MS3 and TF3D, and the pro version has some really great features.

Combine it with wisbar advance 3 and you have a sweet machine.
