How Stable is 6.5
I have tried 6.5 a few times in the past and It has been nothing but problems for me on my Verizon TP. I have used SSK 6.5 roms and was wondering how Stable 6.5 has become and how close to final is it?

Re: How Stable is 6.5
I have been using 6.5 for months I wont go back to 6.1 I just cant I am running Merdins ROM now but I keep a copy of Jucys latest around just in case I have issues I know Jucys ROM is stable and fast. Most of the latest 6.5 runs are very stable and fast if you haven't tried is a while I would say give it a shot.

Re: How Stable is 6.5
I think it was about 2 months ago the last time I tried 6.5. the biggest issues were the battery was horrible and it was very sluggish. AS a verizon user should I stick with ssk or can I try something else

6.5 is the way to go...

Re: How Stable is 6.5
to me, stable means that all programs will run on it. So 6.5 is not stable enough for me.

Re: How Stable is 6.5
I have been running 6.5 SSK roms for a while now, at least a couple months... I set my PP to 16 I believe on my verizon Gimp Pro. system is stable, responsive, batt life is good, runs everything I want... all in all it made my gimp pro useable again.

Re: How Stable is 6.5
A little off topic, but for those of you running 6.5, have you found a way in outlook to display more messages in the message list at once? With 6.1 and earlier, I'd show 12-14 messages on screen (2 lines per message), but with 6.5, while there's still 2 lines per message, there's a ton of extra white space after the subject line for each message. This puts only 6 or so messages on screen.

That's basically what I want mine to look like! I've tried the ssk 6.5 rom and Mighty. Both look like the screen shot I that attached. See all the extra white space after each message? I've tried different themes. Colors change, but not the spacing. |

It is the stock theme that is causing this to happen. If you go to the today screen and change your theme to any other one then you will get that corrected, only classic blue gives that apperance. |
Re: How Stable is 6.5
to the OP, i personally don't use anything but wm6.5 anymore. early builds had annoying bugs that had me hold off but anything copper and beyond is pretty amazing. i've used close to all of the 6.5 roms on the site and i always tend to bounce between mighty and juicy (i know i know... but there's a reason they're the biggest)
i'm currently on juicy because of the keyboard lag on mighty, but that should be fixed soon now that juicy is helping him out with that |

Re: How Stable is 6.5
6.5 has been stable for me, well, the newer ones, a month ago IMO they were not, now im running mighty mikes MR5 5-24-09 release and its crazy stable and battery life rocks, even with 60 programs installed. I will never go back to 6.1, plus, why live in the past, this is the future, id recomend Mr5 to anyone who wants the best 6.5 rom.

Re: How Stable is 6.5
Ive just noticed starting this week that my text is freezing inbetween messages. Ill send a message and it freezes. Ive tried hard resets. The past two MR5 roms and both are doing it... 6.5 was stable for like 1-2 weeks on that rom and I loved it but all of a sudden no matter which of those roms or which apps are installed its doing it bad... Any ideas why, i really dont want to go back to 6.1 after being spoiled with 6.5...
Thanks!! |

Re: How Stable is 6.5
Well Ive purposely did a hard reset and didnt install one app, and the issue was still there... any way it could be hardware starting to fail and should go in for a replacement... anyone else have these issues?
heres my app list: garmin xt arcsoft mms csdevctrl (loads 6.5 lock on wakeup) thats it! and i also now have spb mobile shell 3 which has actually improved it but not fixed the issue. Thanks guys for any positive input |

Re: How Stable is 6.5
Ill try that soon, thanks for the imput... if for some reason its arcsoft, why would it work fine for weeks then all of a sudden bog down the phone... like even when im closing out of other programs it will freeze for a couple secs... so just kinda annoying it just started doing it and wont go away

Re: How Stable is 6.5
Well I flashed to stock rom, updated to new sprint radio... so far so good, anyone think from flashing from multiple mighty rom updates over time did something to the device to slow it down. Maybe going from stock rom to new MR5 with updated sprint radio would do the trick? anyone do this personally?
Thanks again, I miss 6.5 :( |
Re: How Stable is 6.5
It's always a good idea to flash stock then a new rom.
It eliminates tons of problems. Now when you flashed back, did you reload your texts from a backup? if not, that's what fixed your problem. If you have 100+ texts in your messages on a 6.5 rom, it starts becoming laggy and tends to crash or do other funky things. This is happening on every device that I know of. It's best to delete your messages every now and then. |
Re: How Stable is 6.5
I deleted almost all but only left like 3 threaded messages... maybe that helped but not sure... just not sure if i wanna try to go back to 6.5 yet or what. what do i have to lose i guess
