I have tried this out and it does work. I have three routes to town and drop a call each time as I pass a certain point. I called my VM and listened to it while on Automatic and it dropped the call then switched to Roaming. If I set it to Roaming first the call does not drop.

I think the bigger issue is that I drop the call even though it switches. Is it normal behavior to drop a call when switching from Roam to Non Roam or vice versa?

If I forget to switch off Roaming will Sprint eventually figure out that I never use their tower and sent me a nastygram? I think they have some sort of backcharge for roaming on each others networks.

I will look into switching to Verizon as they have better coverage but my company will not pony up for a gimped Verizon TP. I will check into seeing if I can make my Sprint TP work on Verizon but I bet it is a lot of work.
