Thanks for the benchmarks!
btw, this could be an additional test if you think it's useful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...64#post3723064
For example:
Juicy7 - 090512
Code:

Results
--------------------------------
alpha texture (128x256 rgba)
25917 kPixels/s

torus (3k triangles) one light
5536 kPixels/s

color blending
28044 kPixels/s

sub texture (128x128 15x15)
10563 kPixels/s

OpengGL ES info
--------------------------------
Vendor
QUALCOMM, Inc.

Version
OpenGL ES-CM 1.0

Renderer
Q3Dimension MSM7500W 01.02.03 0 5.1.2

Extensions
GL_OES_byte_coordinates
GL_OES_read_format
GL_OES_fixed_point
GL_OES_single_precision_commands
GL_OES_compressed_paletted_texture
GL_OES_matrix_palette
GL_OES_point_sprite
GL_OES_point_size_array
GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object
GL_ARB_texture_env_combine
GL_ARB_texture_env_dot3

GL_EXT_blend_func_separate
GL_EXT_blend_equation_separate
GL_ATI_texture_compression_atitc
GL_ATI_extended_texture_coordinate_data_formats
GL_OES_draw_texture

That's all the output info... not that you would need all of it. But it could be interesting to see if the chef's have different drivers/options enabled.

Lastly, the comment about Juicy's pagepool being large with no benefit is not my experience.
FYI - I use alot of additional programs so I set my pagepool at 32Mb. Now, after a few hours of use my RAM settles at about 65% used instead of 70-75% used with the 16Mb pp.

All customer ROMS will lose to the sprint stock on this GL test. My stock rom test gave results about 30% higher than all customer roms I tested which includes MightyRom5, Silence X 6.1/6.5, Juicy, StarRom 1.7, and others I can't remember. Check the thread for the Test GL and you'll see my stock results versus others.

is this thread intended to include only TP ROMs?

Wow. That's strange.
Did sprint do something right? Any idea why?
I'm heading back over to that thread to check yur post I missed.

I still think its a good benchmark between the Custom ROMs.

Ahhh, that's a different thread. I posted my stock results in this thread:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=68027

I initially thought the replacement phone was just faster, but then I flashed the custom ROMs and saw the slower speeds again.

a. the load time and video performance are hideous
b. internet speed is higher! not sure if it is a new day, updated PRL or what...?
- Right after Stock I installed SSK2.0 and ran up Opera - 23 seconds! 7 seconds slower than STOCK. How the stock opera/connection are so fast?!

I assume this has to do with htcgaurdian or some other app preload, thus decreasing boot time.

Some of your findings are not surprising at all, that's the reason why a lot of peple stay away from cooked ROM'S....:headbang:

Thanks to the OP for the analysis so far. I like informative threads like this one.

I have gone through roms galore and I have completely given up on TF3D. It's gimmicky, and functionally a time waster. I could care less about eye candy... I want a lean machine for a TP... not some clogged up, sputtering glamour phone.

I have resorted to disabling TF3D and just working with the default desktop for WM6. It's the fastest and most functional option for my situation.

How many of you guys are just using the default WM6 home screen? Have some rom suggestions?

Edit: I'm currently using Sceptre Rom which uses the Point UI front end (it was a little better than TF3D). I have disabled the Point UI and i'm just using WM6 default home screen now.

The reason i tried the silence rom 3 our of siley's series is because he made a heavy and a "speed" rom. I figured "can't go wrong with speed!"

So since then i've been running his roms. Although they're mainly geared to tf3d and rhodium, i use the classic wm interface. His roms are very fast and he continues to do great work!

For me, it's a great balance of whats needed, not too much fluff and awesome feedback from the chef. So i can't ask for more than that! Check it out, its in my sig.

For now i've been running the original sr9 release, i didnt like the updated versions of 9. I unfortunately haven't been able to try out the latest roms... hopefully later today i'll have flash them over. but i'm VERY interested in working with his kitchen to build a lighter version for classic interface.
