Windows 7 - Hates WMDC

Apparently, "Device Stage" is the new thing to have to connect your phone to your computer.

I just got a fresh install of Windows 7, and can not locate Device Stage. Nor, a exe file for it.

How is everyone connecting their Touch Pro to Windows 7 x64??

I connect touch pro by usb or bluetooth without any problem with windows 7 but I use windows 7 x86 (32bit). Has you installed activesyn 4.5? I like windows 7 more than windows vista the way I connect touch pro thru bluetooth connection, it works much better.

Windows 7 automatic installed WMDC upon dectecting my touch pro. Everything works as it did in Vista. The new device stage not yet supports the windows mobile devices.

Have used windows 7 WMDC and used activesync 4.5 within a win 7's virtualized XP. Both work properly.

I'm on Build 7000, and haven't had an issue syncing.

If you have the beta version, you may have to manually install WMDC. If you have the RC version, it will install all required software automatically.

I'm on x32 7100 and no -huge- issues here. It's pretty slow at picking up the phone for the first time but it works ok. It worked better in the leaked alpha build (you know, the one without the superbar)... but no complaints here.

any of you flashing with win7? I tried it a few days back, but it acted like it couldn't find the phone. This was on build 7000 though, and I haven't put any energy into researching it.

I have windows 7 x64 and this is what I had to do. Download the wmdc for x64. With the phone unplugged from the computer install it. It will says searching for drivers. One of them will give an error saying device not connected. At that point it would appear that is is no longer doing anything. At this time time connect your phone. Then it will finish and bring up the wmdc and let you set up the sync. As far as flashing, I was able to flash my mogul with with windows 7 using the ppc kitchen.

Flashing under Windows 7 32-bit and 67-bit with no problem. Windows 7 RC1 auto install all the neccessary drivers even in bootloader mode.

Listing your Win7 build number may help. Win7 downloaded and installed WMDC acutomatically for me while using a fresh install of the Release candidate. The beta build however did not.

Flashing should be no problem for Win7 as well. Ive done it with both 32bit and 64bit clients.

I sync and flash just fine with the RC1 build. I look forward to getting Device Stage working for WM devices. It is a great feature and works great wit supported devices.

Wtf...how is this working for all of you so easily. Windows 7 can't pick up my Touch Pro. It keeps thinking its a goddamn storage device and I'm not given the option to activesync. Any help would be appreciated, the people on the Windows 7 board seem stumped as well. This is really frustrating.

I have windows 7 x64. This is what I had to do. Download and install the wmdc for x64:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Start the install without your phone connected to the usb. You see the install get to a point where it looks like it either quit or is no longer doing anything. At this point connect your phone and it will finish the installation. After doing this I can now sync and flash my phone.

No issues with any of the forementioned problems. I'm running the RC.
