Sync contacts after ROM Update
I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, but i am unable to search for anything because the image verification on this site is too difficult for me to decipher..
But i installed Juicy's new rom as well as the 1.11 radio to my Sprint touch pro, and had all my contacts synced to my win7 laptop through winMobile device center. When i try to sync again, i am unsure what to do because it now says i need to do it through outlook which i dont use.. I'd be really dissappointed if all my contacts were lost because for some reason no partnerships show up and i have to create a new one. If someone can help me i would really really appreciate it.. this is the first time i am unable to get my contacts back! =/ Plus if anyone could reccomend any other impt. things to have along with this rom and the win 6.5 interface, i would really appreciate it. I now know there is a such thing as the pim backup/ restore program but i dudnt use it before upgrading to a new rom |
Re: Sync contacts after ROM Update
if ur looking to resync ur contacts to your phone after a rom update i say to use the program pimbackup... ever since i started using it i have never had any reason to use activesync or anything... so give that program a try and if u need help with it PM me... i use it everytime i flash my phone...

Re: Sync contacts after ROM Update
or you can use microsofts myphone (myphone.microsoft.com)
though their web interface is disgraceful |
Re: Sync contacts after ROM Update
yes, myphone.microsoft.com is an option for the future, yes their interface blows. PIM is also a future alternative. I think you're more worried about getting your contacts now, right? the only (admittedly crappy) option I can think of is to download the Outlook 2007 trial (or install it off the disk that should have come with your phone), sync up, get your contacts and immediately uninstall that giant hunk of bloatware email client. requiring Outlook is just another way to make sure we dole some more cash out to Microsoft, but luckily there are two good alternatives listed above.
I hope that works out for you. *EDIT* Also, I would suggest using Revo uninstaller or a similar 3rd party uninstaller to remove Outlook. I run Win 7 rc1 and had a terrible time getting rid of outlook. It left something like 60 registry entries after a standard uninstall. |
Re: Sync contacts after ROM Update
i just backedup pim.vol from the root directory of the phone. then i copy this back after a reflash using UC
