my TOUCH PRO keeps turning off
 

ok guys help me out...
i have a sprint htc touch pro the first version i got when it just came out...

i have been running some custom roms on it for a while now...

just recently my touch pro will just randomly turn off when i leave it idle for a while, it probably happens at least once a day. like when i press the power button to check the time or something the screen wont turn on, and i will have to take out the battery and replace it and it will finally turn back on...

but now its gotten even worse, now when i try to turn it back on after replacing the battery it wont even turn on, only when i leave it dead for about 30 mins or so, and replace the battery again it will turn on...

does anyone know what the problem is? or is anyone facing similar problems? the phone works perfectly fine when it is on...

and its not the rom that is the problem because i have switched through a few and the phone still does the same thing...

Mine seems to do this pretty often when I'm in a low signal area roaming or something......I never have to take out the battery though............I press the soft reset button with the stylus, and then hold the power button down for a few seconds and it restarts............
Sorry, I have no fix though.........maybe the radio?

anyone know if my tp is still under warranty? can i take it back to sprint? i dont have the insurance..

get the insurance first of all, second it has a one year manufacturer warranty, and third flash to stock and do a hard reset or two and see if the problem persists.

This was happening to mine. Make sure that the battery contact pins are not bent, or pushed in.
Try putting tape on on the botton right side of the battery (opossite side of the contacts) until the battery makes a tight fit with the contact i did this to mine and I haven't encountered that problem.

well i dont think its the battery thats causing the problem... it has to be a hardware issue cuz the phone wont even turn on when its in the wall jack without the battery.

this has happened to me also. i think i will try the battery fix, but this is some bs because i missed important call while it was off and didnt realize it. i went to the sprint store and they gave me a new battery but it happened again. whats the business? where do these issues come from? and my key board is loose also. love the phone hate the bs

First off, Sprint has open enrollment for TEP in the month of May. Add the insurance, wait a few days, go get it fixed.

Secondly, I've seen this issue a LOT, and I'm willing to bet that if you pull your battery out, your contacts are uneven, possibly a few are completely pushed in. It's a common problem and an easy fix for a tech.

had a similar problem about a month or 2 ago. everytime i loaded google maps my phone would reset by itself
