Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

Ok, not sure where to post this question.

I want to be able to log into MLB gameday audio.

I understand that the stock browser in the Touch Pro has no FLASH installed at all.

I did however install one of the latest Opera browser's with FLASHLITE 3.1.

If this is installed on my device, why is it that I still can't see FLASH sites properly?

What is the story behind the FLASHLITE in comparison to regular flash.

Thanks

Yea Opera still is not fully flash capable, I haven't had much luck with it displaying any of the flash that I need. Use skyfire, it works great for all of my streaming audio.

I think skyfire would work for you

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

The problem with skyfire on this MLB site is that when you get to the point of entering your user name and password, you just can't enter it as you can never get a cursor on the screen to enter the text. Believe me, I have tried everything I know...even using the attached keyboard on the TP. Nothing ever comes up. So, I just get stopped there.

On each version of Opera, I will get stuck in all different parts to navigating to this as well.

Its just very frustrating that it doesn't work. I was hoping that I could find someone out there who has had success with this.

When you get to the site, log in and then go to the media center page with the various feeds. You are correct that it will not let you log in when you click on the audio you want, but if you log in initially, it will not ask you to log in after you click on the game you want. Works for me that way. I have noticed that if the screen turns off, the audio stops streaming as well, which I guess should not be surprising, but other than that it works fine.

what browser and version number are you using? Do you have flashlite3.1 installed?

Sorry, I should have mentioned I am using Skyfire 0.9.0.933. No, I do not have flashlite installed. Just the default Opera and then Skyfire (just for MLB). I go to the main mlb page and log in. Then I click the link for Current Subscribers, then Gameday Audio. Use it in the car. Wish they would just include the WM MLB player with the plan. It would make things easier.

I use Opera to access the MLB gameday audio all the time. It works perfect. I have the Opera that came with the touch pro and havent installed flashlite.

MLB.com does come up as a mobile page but there should be a link to go to gameday audio.

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

how do you use IE as MLB gameday audio is ONLY FLASH??

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

Who said it's flash only?

Once the games start today, I'll snap you a screen shot. I ran a stock Sprint ROM, then I did on the Mighty Rom, currently running the Vista Rom.

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

ok, waiting on the snap shot, also sent you a PM regarding this.

By the way, the MLB gameday Audio I am referring to is "NOT" the gameday audio that you pay extra for. Its the regular one which you can get on you regular computer/desktop/laptop. Its kinda stupid to carry around my laptop and tether with my phone just to hear a ballgame when my phone can supposedly do flash.

So, your probably correct that you can hear the game and its not flash because I am assuming that you are paying for the mobile version of the gameday audio. Am I correct?

I would love to know if anyone is NOT paying for gameday audio and can actually hear the game using the touchpro only.

When you go to the page in Skyfire, does it let you log in? How far are you getting before it does not work?

Sorry I got busy last night and completely forgot the screenshots last night, but there's a whole other thread about this.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...hlight=gameday

And yes I pay for mobile gameday, but if you're looking to get MLB games for free try this site

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

I believe you that if you pay for the mobile version (which is a total rip off--and I dont care that it costs 2-3-4-or 5 dollars extra) it should be included if you are paying for the service.

I wanted to get the regular version which in deed it flash only on my mobile phone. Also, see if you can blank out that link in your post. As things like they get public, they seems to shut them down.

jshell73 05-08-2009 09:00 AM

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

Yeah but I don't pay for the regular version I only pay for mobile. So it was like 6 bucks for an entire year. If I'm not in the office, I'm at a game or home where I have MLBTV.

Is that better for the link? Or do I need to completely remove it?

amart79196 05-08-2009 09:31 AM

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

I would remove it just to play it safe.

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I assumed since you were looking to run it on your Touch Pro that you were trying to use mobile gameday which also locks up when entering the userid and password if you use Opera.

Re: Opera Browser with FlashLite not able to use MLB gameday Audio

well, Thank you very much you following the thread. I am still however in search of the fix for this problem and I am not about to start paying extra for something that I already pay for. Its very silly that I can't access this, but if I lug my laptop around in my car, I can just tether with my TP and my Lappy and play the games through my Lappy...either way, its not a convience issue more then anything else.

I would just love to see the flash player work properly.
