Image / Graphics Editor?
 

I'm looking for an application that will allow me to change a jpg that I take with my camera to a 1 bit Tif file. I've been hunting and so far no luck. Anyone know of one? I would also need it to have the THRESHOLD option/filter (this sets the threshold for the black and white of the 1 bit image).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

I LOVE GIMP! But they don't have it for the PPC.... :(

i use resco photo viewer pro. tons of options for making pictures the way you want.

grr i hate GIMP my main machine is linux and when i need to edit a graphic i go to my windows machine to use PS. gimp is craptacular but you cant complain cause its free. just thought i would throw that out there cause i was trying to edit a graphic in GIMP 5 seconds before i read this thread lol

I love GIMP. In my experience (and I am sure this is not true for everyone), the people that have problems with it are Photoshop people (who are wanting it to be a linux ver. of Photoshop... which it is not). They're different programs and work a bit differently. Anyway, to each their own of course! :)

How true, I spent a couple years learning all the ins & outs of PS, saving custom actions etc etc.

Now, when I have to use Gimp I absolutely HATE it......

Thanks but according to their website it does not save in Tif format :(

This is really OT, but my 2 cents re:the GIMP, when I first tried it I also HATED IT!! But as soon as I learned that by simply RIGHT-CLICKING on the image your entire dialog menu appears.. I took to it very well! Of course there was probably about a YEAR of time in between from when I first tried it and then when I decided to give it a second chance. Glad I did!
