Making exchange activesync work with all roms...
 
I had always been running into problems with all custom roms giving me a 0x85010013 error when trying to sync with work.

Until now, the workaround was always, 'have somebody disable paranoia mode on the server' [paraphrasing], which can't happen in my case.

The tool, made for an i780, works on my HTC Touch Pro as well. 'everything's great now.

Posting, complete with my error code in case somebody else searches here and doesn't find a good answer. (no, I don't know what the rom tweaks).

No need to patch the WinMo EAS - it works fine with a properly configured Exchange server. So far the person who released the "patch" hasn't said exactly what the patch does.

I was getting that also, then I downloaded the certificate from the OWA site. I clicked on the lock and selected view certificates, then the details tab, then copy to file, and selected the option to save as a P7B and also selected "Include all certificates in the certification path if possible box". Now I don't have any trouble syncing after a reset. Before, if I did a soft reset, it would quit syncing until I plugged it into my pc at work. Now I can reset whenever I want.

This works great for me. It was hit and miss with ROMS. I really like Merdins ROM's but since v3.16 OWA never worked. I am currently using his 6.5 v4.5 and with this patch works thus far. I will update if it stops working.

this is what the exe over @ xda changes in the registry

I haven't done a file compare, but I did do a registry compare and some of these entries changed. I deleted the whole key and ran again, it adds/changes the following.

*I only use google's exchange (contact/calendar) so I don't know if this alone fixes, but I bet it does. (if the exe did anyway.)

this "patch" does not work with the mightroms...
