Alltel Touch Pro to Verizon, please help.

ive had nothing but problems since verizon has been involved in the switch, im on alltel with a touch pro, and the phone works great, ive done every PL update and since verizon got involved my cell signal service from a 1-10 went from an 9 to a 2

its damn near imposable for people to call me when im at my house, ive been on tech support with "10" different tech and they even sent me another phone.....

this whole switch is bull **** !

Already on Alltel and being merged to Verizon. I thought it would be an easy transition from the package but when I called Verizon to talk about what happens after my Alltel contract ran out (soon) the lady said we would HAVE to change phones. Like I said, I believe they are just trying to sell phones, especially after you guys got me straightened out on the ESN change.

My wife and I both have had nothing but problems with service for about a month now. MMS and text not going through as well as phone calls... She has a Samsung Delve so with my TP and her Delve both having the same problems, I have to think it is their problem... not with our phones.

If the problem is with the service and not the phone, as it appears to be; definately document when and what is happening and create a little log of it. Verizon is pretty good at giving you credit for service interupptions that you can document.

Do you have an Alltel account or just the phone and want it on your VZW account?

usually once I made the prl changes (vzw prl) mip settings and stuff, hitting *228 option 3 worked famously...but I guess its phone specific

After spending 3 hours with Verizon tech support last night trying to convert my Alltel TP to the Verizon network we got everything to work except receiving texts from Verizon and Alltel accounts. Web browsing, phone calls, email, even text from a friend on AT&T came through to my phone just fine. Just no text from Alltel or Verizon. They had me do everything possible on my phone and I really believe they did everything possible on their end. The tech I spoke to made several inquiries to other techs and supervisors and they finally came down to the conclusion it is because the MEID number is ALLtel specific similar to the fact that HTC made a Touch Pro model just for Verizon.

The #228 option 1 went through OK and option 2, also. But when we tried *228 option 3 the recording said it was not a valid choice.
