WM6.1 ROM like stock Sprint but faster?
 

The deal so far is that I mostly like TF3D and the stock Sprint ROM is definitely functional. This is my first smartphone but from what I've read the TP is way more functional out of the box than previous smartphones. And I've improved it with tweaks here and there, plus I have a late-ish build phone, 3/9/09. However I keep hearing that I can have everything I have now, but with more speed.

What is the closest cooked ROM to stock Sprint but with performance improvements that are impossible via simple registry changes? Basically I want everything I have now (minus Sprint TV or nav, which I don't pay for or use) but in a faster package. I would say the application performance is the biggest drawback. My 2400 message exchange mailbox takes a few seconds to open, sometimes other apps slow down, or take too long to close. Or even launching the windows calculator takes a few seconds when I think it should be damn near instant. The camera app is WAY too sluggish, as well. Taking a picture is ok but navigating the advanced options feels like I am running Windows 95 on a 386, as an example. With 528MHz and 288MB ram I can't help but feel I am leaving speed on the table. Either that or WM is incredibly inefficient, or both.

Which ROM or ROMs fits the bill here?

eBam did a stock rom with a 32 meg page pool. It's exactly the same as the stock rom other than the pagepool enhancement with speeds things up considerably. You'll have to go hunting for it, it's probably a few pages back.

Sprint Nav is free now If you have a data plan. just letting you know.

I have an old F&F 800 2-line plan that I added data to. Not sure if the free sprint nav applies. Would this show up on my sprint account info site? Or should I try *2? I had removed TV from TF3D and never tried the Sprint nav. Is it any good? I have an old Compaq iPAQ with HP Navigation that I use in the car exclusively for MP3s and nav, and it works pretty good (Navteq engine).

I've heard Juicy's stuff is one of the more mainstream/accepted ROMs that falls under the category of "fast/stable" plus "loaded." Does it include all of the stuff that came with my phone from Sprint?

Not sure exactly when it went to free for sprint nav. All of a sudden I was able to just use it with no log in and no preempt for payment,where previously I had tried and it always gave me 1 day free then you pay. I've seen various posts about this as well which preempted me to try it. I like it but its not always accurate,I'd rather use livesearch but if ya like the turn by turn speech its probably really good for long trips.

I just ran Sprint nav and put in my name and e-mail and it opened up. Is it supposed to prompt me if i don't have unlimited nav in my plan? I recall the Vision plan I added to my F&F account explicitly did not have nav, but maybe something changed in the last ~month.

use GC's rom. It is like 6.1
