Installing programs on the storage card
Would your phone run slower if you installed all programs to the device storage card?

Re: Installing programs on the storage card
Not necessarily. There are different "classes" of speeds for sd cards, but I don't think you would notice much of a difference for most programs.
Really, it used to be that you had to install almost everything to the storage card b/c onboard storage on phones was SO minimal (the treo 700wx, 6700 come to immediate thought). Anymore, phones like the Touch Pro have so much internal storage the only time I ever install anything to the card is if the program has configuration files that store in the same folder (like AEBPlus...it saves my settings to a file in the same directory the program is in. That way when I flash or hard reset I don't have to set them up again!) |

It also used to be that anything you had a Today plug-in for had to be installed to the device. TouchFlo knocked that out of the box. I don't notice any difference between running speeds of apps on my card as opposed to my TP's memory. I have a 16GB Class 6 card. Some developers specifically ask you to install their apps to your device. If you pay attention to them, you'll be all set.

Re: Installing programs on the storage card
I personally haven't had any reason to install anything to the card, so I've avoided the trouble. Some apps have serious problems with it, and considering how much space the TP gives us combined with how small most WM apps are, it's just safer to install to the device. The exception is the few apps like TomTom or an MMORPG I was curious about which basically REQUIRE you to install to the card, as their data is in the gig+ range.
