It should be faster speeds being tethered as the phone is acting as a passive device, it's not rendering the pages etc. I think. Also, are you receiving calls, texts and the like while tethered?

I did the dslreports.com/mspeed (did download test only) on the phone and was around 700k, I get 1.25mb when tethered.. get the same on both my laptop and desktop when tethered.

No texting/calls when tethered. I have lived with this poor upload tethered performance since I got the phone a few months ago, like I said before this phone I had a mogul and it was much faster.. uploads at least. downloads was about the same.. maybe a little slower with the touch pro.
