Just a wild guess:
Try telling VC to "Open File Explorer" or "Open Total Commander" (if you have it) and see if you can navigate anywhere from one of those programs via the D-pad.
Maybe you will get lucky.

Is there any fix to a non-responsive touch screen? I have a TP that I got from a friend, so i can't have it replaced by the carrier...
