SHould I get a new phone?

Okay, Iv had it for a week. Alltel.
Well, my keyboard lagged, so I used a .cab file. It worked, but when my keyboard started to stop working I uninstalled it. It worked again. But then went out several times. So I used a reg edit, and same thing. So I hard reset. Now It goes out occasionally (takes anywhere from 1-10 resets to work) and it lags. And it either skips my space bar,(likethis is how itwould typethis sentance) or puts 15 spaces in. Sometimes one button will repeat to. Like this for exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxammpleeee. (and I would only type example).

Now the lag is INCREDIBLY Irritating, but I think it messed with my keyboard. Can a .cab file do this? or is it just the phone?
It started doing this after only a few days of use. My keyboard is also essential to me. I rack up about 15,000 txt messages per month (incoming+outgoing) So a working, non laggy keyboard is an essential part of my phone.

Also, my music player even crapped out on me on TF3D so Im using Nitrogen Music player. Help anyone??

no you shouldnt get a new phone
you need to unlock your phone and flash a custom rom to it
it will speed it up greatly
also in start>settings>input> uncheck suggest words, add space after work, and capitalize first letter this will speed up typing
make sure you dont have t9 on either as this laggs a lot!
to disable t9, bring up your onscreen keyboard and press the button that says T9--ABC

**EDIT** it does sound like a hardware issue sorry had to reread the first post
i would take it back asap and get a new phone through insurance!

the problem singer_actor is experiencing is a hardware keyboard failing, not a lag issue. singer_actor, if you flex the keyboard (outside down, use a finger in the middle of the keyboard and push it up), it will stop repeating. the same also works if it stops typing, it will start typing again.

Nope it wont work. And Im definatelt NOT filing an insurance claim. I just spend $200 on this a week ago. Im not paying another $100 for a malfunctioned phone.

Before even reading the entire post my answer to the title was YES! I am a firm believer that you always need a new phone. The more you go through the more likely they are to give you a freebie upgrade when the next best device comes out.

As for the keyboard issue, does this happen immediately after a reset as well? If so, go to the VZW store in the morning. If not, it might new a new ROM.

If you only had for two weeks, return it to a Sprint store for a free replacement. You have 30 days, just bring in you sale slip.

he is using Alltel, I think most carriers use the same return policy or 30 days minus the activation fee. but just return it for a new one, you will get a new phone free of charge. or do what most people said, flash your phone to a custom rom and it should be a lot better. I just got my Touch Pro recently and flashing it made everything run a lot smoother.

I'm not sure about Alltel, but with Sprint, the keyboard issue is a HARDWARE failure, so it's ZERO charge (at least it was for me.. new phone not refurb too)
