hot touch pro solution

1 Attachment(s)
I have been wrestling with my Touch Pro heating and not charging during tethered data sessions for a few days and think I have found another helpful solution.

I am using no2chem's battery program that draws more current from USB
I changed radios to many and have decided to stick with the Telus radio
Used cody's battery hack cab
removed the back and slid open the keyboard on the phone while tethering

all of these helped me stay cooler longer but i was still getting to the point that my device would stop charging.

so I took my Xbox360 cooler that is externally powered and set my phone on it during while tethering and coupled with everything else it finally stays charging and on.

attached is a pic of the cooler i have, i bought it at Kmart but have seen them elsewhere
hope this helps someone out

well, today we got another great tool from no2chem!! he made an app to underclock the cpu. since you can recreate your senario so well, you would be able to prove/disprove if it helps.

so in other words, your solution is to put a fan on it.

Thanks man. That never occurred to me!

sprint's new radio apparently cuts down on heat while charging... don't know much about that stuff so i couldn't tell you how... i think it may have, but it could be a placebo effect too :P

Never said nobody ever had the idea. Just putting it up because I didn't find it while searching for an answer to my problem, it may just work for someone to just use the fan which took me all of 2 minutes, wish i had tried it first before i spent two days testing different radios and registry hacks

thats the radio i started with that made me switch, none of the sprint radios are good in my area, its really a toss-up between telus and verizon

:) I may need to try your idea instead of the one I've been using - I set my TP on one of those re-usable cold packs - the kind that stay flexible when frozen.

I was on a 5 hour conference call yesterday - and my TP stayed cool and fully charged the whole time.
