JD'S 6.5 rom. No Task manager on task bar??

I love his new Rom as it has been very fast and stable for me so far. I've tried Copper and i actually prefer JD's. Only problem is the HTC task manager doesn't show up in the task bar at all. Anyone know what is up?

The version of the taskmanager I used is current however I removed the quick menu due to the lack of space and compatiblity with the taskbar I removed the quickmenu the quickmenu sometime can cause the startmenu to quit working .... and for further info you will need to post a question like this in my thread so that I or someone can give you a better answer

Re: JD'S 6.5 rom. No Task manager on task bar??

I use wkTask and love it.

It WILL close the Start Menu on Windows Mobile 6.5 by default, but you can configure it not to. Otherwise you'll need to reboot to get the Start Menu back.

I am still trying to find out the path and filename of the program that runs the Start Menu so I can include that in the wkTask exclusion list, but in the meantime you can add programs to the exclusion list by their taskbar titles.

So to make this work with wkTask without knowing the filename you have to add the titles "Start", "Settings", "Connections", "Personal", and "System" to the exclusion list. Then wkTask will not close any program with those taskbar titles and all is well.

It also has an optional battery indicator (I like it - it's color configurable if you donate - gray if you don't)
It also has an optional program launcher app (like it - but don't need it anymore with the new 6.5 Start Menu)
It also has an optional screen dimmer and volume app built in (I like that one for the dimmer but again not really needed any more with the TP's light sensor)

You dont need a taskbar....the touch pro has plenty of memory you dont need it....you probably owned a mogul....you dont need it...just forget it exists and it wont matter anymore...:evil4:

Re: JD'S 6.5 rom. No Task manager on task bar??

I am really disappointed in this ROM for that reason. I wanted to like JD's ROM, because I've tried Juicy7 and Mighty5. Both are good in their own way, but I wanted more performance, if possible. So I went on my flashing adventure.

I think taskmanager should be baked into any ROM. It's essential to any ROM. This should not be an add on after the ROM was completed. It's like a car's engine. You don't get a car and then start looking for an engine. Taskmanager service a basic function...I am just confused why this was not baked into the ROM.

It's probably bad, that if I don't see the taskmanger on my home page at the top right corner, I don't bother evaluating the ROM any further.

I am sure JD's ROM has a lot of good points, but I trip over the missing taskmanger and it's re-flash time.

Dude you are a big joke for posting this and i hate to be rude but your lack of reading and paying attention deserves it. If you would take the time to download the kitchen and build your own rom all you have to do is select the correct task manager and you wold have this. The rom JD posted is for sprint users, and he put stuff in there that "HE" likes. He must not like having the task manager on the home screen so it's not there. Read and try everything before you talk about you not liking something. And just to let you know there is a task manager in the rom there is just no option to put it on the home screen with the version he has in that rom.:angry7::angry7::angry7::angry7::angry7::angry 7::angry7::angry7::angry7::angry7:

Re: JD'S 6.5 rom. No Task manager on task bar??

Nothing against JD's Rom, I'm sure it's as good or better then any Rom on the market.

I'm scared to flash and run the stock ROM, but this post got my attention because I'm searching on how to get my task manager back.

I installed Quick Menu, wasn't happy with it and uninstalled. Now my tm is missing and I can't find the freakin thing. Any help would be appreciated.
I already followed the uninstall features, which work fine, but the tm is still missing.

Sorry for the hijack, now take me to Syria or everyone dies. ;)

Re: JD'S 6.5 rom. No Task manager on task bar??

Thanks, I had done what you told me in the past without success, but just realized there's an option to check quick menu. That's what I was looking for (the thing with the3 lines and an arrow on the today/home page).
The quick menu reference scared me into thinking i would just be reactivating Quick Menu.

Thanks, your all free to go. :)

Try \windows\shell32.exe...
