What Dialer are you guys using for your 6.5 ROMS?
 

I just finally flashed to 6.5 (JD's) and I must say it looks pretty sweet. The only thing I hate about it is the stock dialer. I know the HTC S2A dialers have problems with 6.5 when its locked so that rules that one out.

Are there any fully compatible dialers for 6.5 yet that doesn't look fugly?

+1 yes, i tried quite a few different ones, and this BY FAR works the most seamless and trouble free.

I use the ole vogue dialer for qvga, and plain raphael stock phonecanvas for vga

This is the one I use. The answering feature seems to interfere with that of the native lock screen so I do not use the native lock screen anymore, s2u2 instead...

I just installed the blackslide2answer and the default windows answer screen flickers and appears in the background briefly when someone first calls. Anyone else with similar experience? How do you fix it?

I had the same issue, up until the point where the two answering systems seemed to interfere so bad that I couldn't answer calls. I'm not sure what made it worse, but it definitely started with the same symptoms you are describing. Anyhow, I finally reverted back to using s2u2 for my lock screen. I'm hoping the dialer gets cooked into one of the highly anticipated future 6.5 ROMS and is compatible with the native lock screen bug free.
