Released April 3rd, 2009 On the HTC website

When will their be updates for the Touch Pro? I know it doesn't really matter, I guess. Since we all mostly run custom Roms that already have improvements and fixes. Just wondering if everyone already knew this was out and wondering what they fixed or improved.

yea, ive heard something about this also. its supposed to take place within a few weeks from what i understand but you will have to (if you are using a custom rom) switch back to the stock for the updates to take effect...but like you said, most of us are using awesome roms that pretty much blow away anything a stock rom can offer us right now. btw, im running the awesomeness of the copper rom...it rocks something major!!!

Here's what is being reported so far as improvements:


-Faster phone boot up
-Smoother TF3D (Much faster than before)
-Much faster opera browser
-Better Youtube app
-Battery life is a little better
-New slide-to-answer and hold call features
-Better Sprint Nav and SprintTV

As far as the better SprintTV, has this already been pulled out for a seperate install?

That's odd that they released it on a Friday.

My guess is we'll see the Touch Pro update before the end of the month, probably before the 25th.

Yea Santod,
I've been wondering the same thing for a few days. When are the chefs gonna rip the goodies out and hook us up. I've seen it posted a few times, even in the upgrade forum, but haven't heard any of the chefs talking about it.

This is good news if the TP version isn't too far away. I just got a new (refurb actually) device and the minor improvements in there are already noticeably better from my old one, which was from the first run last fall. Now that I'm more comfortable backing up my data too, I look forward to the upgrade.

I also think it's wise that HTC offers it on their own site and Sprint doesn't do it over the air, because that would cause problems for those who don't know what they're doing.

I'm getting impatient for the new official Sprint TP ROM - there are several issues that a hard reset might fix on my TP anyway, so I'd really like to kill the proverbial 2 birds with one stone. Anyone know what's up or hear anything about an imminent release?
