VZW Touch Screen Broken
I posted this in the upgrades forum, and didnt realize sorry :( I have asked the original thread be closed and started this one.
So today some how I broke the touch screen on my touch pro I think I may have applied too much pressure to it while the phone was in my pocket..... 1. I now need to activate the start menu some how with the keyboard so I can get to the programs list and do a backup. (I think my recent one should be ok but just to be sure...) 2. Also any way to make sure it can be hardreset so my data/email/messages contacts ect are wiped. I am going to go back to VZW tomorrow and see what can be done but dont want to give them back a phone with personal info on it. Any ideas? Thanks |
Re: VZW Touch Screen Broken
if you dont ahve a custom rom on there you should be safe, to hard reset once you get it backed up just,
hold down - Vol Dwn/center D-pad/Pwer button and poke the reset button. |
Re: VZW Touch Screen Broken
no custom rom I will give that a shot, dam phone without hardware start button
any ideas how to get to the prpgrams list without it? |
Re: VZW Touch Screen Broken
Connect to your pc and install EveryWan remote http://www.sparus-software.com/spip....wnload&lang=en
Then you can have a virtual screen of your TP on your desktop and so anything you want. I'm sure there are other remote apps but this one works great and is free. good luck. |
Re: VZW Touch Screen Broken
Perfect Thanks!!!
I have another remote application but I need to init control from the device itself... this one is great |
Re: VZW Touch Screen Broken
I know how you feel my screen went out about a month ago so good luck to you.

Well thats exactly what happened to me... rainbow blotch... after going to the local store they dont have replacements at the store. And then directing me to call the 800 number to get it replaced. I spent about 1 hr on the phone to find out they dont have any of these in the warehouse either... so after a little complaining to the store manager he found me a new one at another local store (they were sold out there.) I now have a NEW phone, not a replacement. |
