Just broke my screen
 

well just broke the screen on my touch pro. What should i do now since i have a custom ROM installed on it? send it off to asurion anyways even with mightymikes rom or buy a replacement screen and attempt to swap it?

If you can get it into bootloader mode you can reflash it. Most phone dont look for a screen or not, its just an output device. you'd be better off gonig that route and the touch window and the LCD alone are going to cost you well above the cost of the insurance replacement. Try that first, and if it doesn't work, THEN replace the LCD and touch window.

yeah i guess i could try reflashing it with the stock sprint rom. will Asurion care if i send it in with a custom rom then?

Im not sure if they will or not. Out of my knowledge all they do is flash the stock software onto the device and refurb it to sell to another poor soul whos destroyed thier TP. :P I doubt it would hurt much to call them and find out. Technically when you flash other S/W you are voiding the warranty, but I don't know. Godo question!

you can still flash back to the stock rom. just htat you cant see whats going on on the phone lol but if you're a vet at flashing, you can gauge wats gonna happen. besides, it gives u the status on the computer anyways

I had this happen bout a month ago. I just called, got a new (not refurb) from asurion, then sent the old broke one back. Didnt even bother flashing back to stock or locking it. No problems at all.
