Hello p-slim, thanks for your help. This is what I want the app to do, I want to use the light sensor to unlock the phone and have the WM6.5 locking program set for 15+ minutes. This combo will make my phone secure and prevent the password requirement every time I turn the screen on.

So at the end of the day, I am still looking for a stable screen locking app that will:
  • no locking screen, 'cause I will have on with WM6.5 lock app
  • must have unlocking by light sensor
  • must have locking by power button (top left of TP device)

I believe he wants it to unlock when taking the phone out of his pocket for instance. There were some rumors of WM7 having this functionality...

BTW for those of you using DeviceLock. If you run into a bug where you must unlock twice to actually unlock, this is a bug with DeviceLock, not the 6.5 locker. Simply switch to Csdevctrl found at xda (probably already posted in this thread).

Some locking app has the ability to unlock when there is sufficient light. The concept is when lock your phone and put your phone in your pocket or case, it's dark and if you select unlock by ligh senor, the only way to unlock is to provide light (ala remove from pocket/case). That way, if it's dark, the phone will be locked...no accidental calls or un-man'd activities.

So for the light feature to work, i assume a sensor has to be built into our phone, does our phone have the light sensor possibility?

Re: Automatic lock wm6.5?

Yep, it does. Look at the front of the phone, top, where the headset speaker is (where your ear goes when you talk). In the oval slit, on the left side, you'll see a small (3mm) piece of what looks like clear plastic. That's the light sensor used to turn off the screen when you put the phone to your ear when talking (stock ROM function). That's the same sensor that controls the screen brightness. You'll notice this if you power on your phone outside in full sun; for a moment the screen will be dark and then "jump" to full brightness when you can see it in full sunlight.

The light sensor is on the TP's speaker on the top of the screen face. It's the "slit" looking thing, and if you look closely, it to the left side of the slit. Slit is where you press your TP to your ear when you talk without headset. Sorry for the poor description....But yes we, TP owners, have a light sensor.

try that program. I will unlock by light, and has many other excellent options. But its not the stock wm 6.5 locker :(

Re: Automatic lock wm6.5?

Yea I would go with an alternate program to lock the device than the default windows lock. The reason I say this is that with 6.5 I have noticed a massive ring delay when using the windows lock. Like 4-6 flashes before it will ring with a windows ringtone. Unlocked it works after 2. Just thought I would give that advice in case you hadnt encountered it yet and ask if any of you have seen that as well.
