Connect to EVDO only
 

Hey I have searched all day for this so I am finally gonna break down and start a new thread.

I want to be able to force my data connect to an EVDO signal when the option is present.

There is EVDO service in my area and sometimes I can get my phone to connect to it but more often then not its switches to a higher signal strength 1x signal. I am connecting to the internet on my PC using pdaNet over Wifi if that makes a difference.

hklm\software\oem\phonesettings\hidden mode of operation ....... change the 1 to 0, then softreset

now in your phone menu/option/services you will have the "mode of operation" :Hybrid/EVDO Only/1X only

did you see this an post it again in your own words? :\

side note its HiddenModeOperationPage and not my original hidden mode of operation or in ##778# under Modem Settings\Preferred Mode :)

I been using this hack since the days of the 67...yea i could of typed the "page"..but I used the "...." instead.

I have never done the ##778# method....but now you need the MSL to get in and with the reg edit you are done and now have that option to can change on the fly. 8)

ModeOfOperation isn't really something new =/ It's been posted on PPCGeeks and XDA a number of times.

Changing hidden mode operation to 0 from 1 works. But when you force evdo only you get no calls, texts or emails till you switch it back to hybrid, be carefull, one day I forgot to switch it back and the wife was calling like crazy, needless to say, I only use it when downloading and I set a reminder to change it back.

Emails work fine (push and pop3), just calling and sms service is disrupted (since they can't/don't go over the DO signal).
