Re: Is WM6.5 faster or better in any way than WM6.1?
agreed, it's great, there are still quite a few 3rd party apps that don't play nice with it, but we learn to deal, all it's good makes up for the bad

Re: Is WM6.5 faster or better in any way than WM6.1?
The scrolling doesn't seem to work with everything. I'm using NewsBreak and it scrolls fine in the channels, but not at all while in the articles. This happens with some other programs as well. There are significant incompatibilities with third party software, such as FTouchSL. It just doesn't work.

Re: Is WM6.5 faster or better in any way than WM6.1?
I've noticed the stutter in the programs list is ROM-related. Juicy's first ROM with the TP2 manila had it set so all the icons in the list were pre-loaded... they didn't dynamically load every time you brought up the start menu. This made scrolling through it GREAT because it was super smooth. The next version of the rom added some "tweaks for performance and RAM" which had the icons load every time... kind of seemed like a step backwards in performance to me. Whatever setting it is, it seems to be globally accepted by the chefs, which is a shame

For us new to the phone, I have already unlocked (woohoo), in your opinions is it better to start off with a 6.1 ROM over a 6.5, or does it not really matter either way? Thanks~

Re: Is WM6.5 faster or better in any way than WM6.1?
Well I got the Phantom WM6.5 Rhodium. Impressions:
Much smoother scrolling/animations but a bit sluggish when clicking around and stuff. I don't have the 3D "right-click" menus that someone here was talking about. They're flat, but they do feel much better than the old ones. The rest doesn't really impress me much, but I do appreciate the better scrolling and animations. We'll see how it goes... |

Go 6.5, JD has a nice rom in the CDMA upgrades section. I was really disappointed when I got the first details on 6.5 but wow, its really nice. The kenitic scrolling is just amazing, so smooth. I feel like every program (email, sms etc. etc.) is a totally new program so much more finger friendly.
