best HTC Touch Pro backup software?

I tried Resco but it does not backup everything. Contact favorites and program favorites are not saved at all.. what is the best backup software out there?

I like MyPhone. Sync to cloud... can schedule it for every night, or even more frequently if you like.

I use Sprite. Did use SBP for awhile, but always got errors with Scheduling backups. Sprite works great tho, with manual and scheduled backups. Its not that expensive either, specially if you find a special.

+1 for Sprite. I am very satisfied with it.

I'll give another vote for Spite. I like SPB's ui better, but it would occasionally lock up my Mogul (when I had one). I'm also interested in Myphone, if my beta application eve get approved!

Add one more for Sprite. I got a package deal with Sprite backup and Terminator, when I bought mine.

I use PIM backup.
It backs up contacts, messages, and you can folder and/or a particular file type to back up.
It meets all my backing up needs, and it's free.

I use SPB and it has worked flawlessly for me on the Touch Pro...I also started using Activesync over the air to sync to a dummy gmail acct that I use exclusively for contacts and calendar backup...works great and the benefit is A) it's free, and B) you have access to your most important data anywhere with an internet connection...with the others, you need access to either your phone/SD card, or your home PC where everything is backed up...gmail, like another mentioned in this thread, is in the cloud...

I used SPB on my 800W with great success. With the Touch Pro it never worked properly. I then went to Sprite Backup (paid) and have had no problems at all. My concern about using a "cloud" solution or one that does it via the Net is what if I am in a no service area - outta luck.

That's the same experience I had, SPB worked great in my Titan's but restores consistently failed in my TouchPro's.

Sprite on the other hand works perfectly.

I have done a full backup minus the storage card with Resco.. and when I do a full restore.. all the favorite programs on the favorites tab.. and the favorite contacts on the favorite tabs are not restored. (Touchflo Tabs I'm talking about). I'm wanting a software that backs them up and restores them it's a pain to reset up almost 21 favorite program in the programs tab.

Both SPB and Sprite can do this. They are not free, but well worth it. I had a boat load of trouble with SPB, and like most people here, switched over to Sprite, and love it.

Trying out Sprite now.. Many of you recommend it.. I liked how I could backup to the PC and not waste my storage room for the backup. Nice feature.

Yea, Sprite really is awesome.

My backup files are pretty big as I have so much stuff installed in my phone & a good bit of it is installed to main memory (my BU files are close to 200 MB)

I have it set to automatically write directly to a folder named "backup" on my 16 gig card. I have a half dozen stored backups in there most of the time.

Right now, there is a BU image from 3/19/09 that I know works perfectly as I have restored it four times. I have 3-4 more current BU's in their also, but I won't delete that one as I know 100% that it restores properly. If I need to do a restore at this point, I would pick the most recent one first but if for some reason it didn't restore perfectly I know I have the BU from 3/19 sitting there as insurance that I know 100% will work.

SPB Back Up 2.0 works well and I can back it up while connected to Activsync to save a copy on my PC.

Whats a good program to back up the phones settings, like my ringers & all that stuff too?! I'm looking for something to back up my phone so when I do a hard reset it can restore my phone with the same settings as before I did the hard reset!

Re: best HTC Touch Pro backup software?

Just when I want to give some love Sprite 6.5.4, I got no love. First time Sprite BU user, and a guy, so I did not read the manual, went thru the wizard and was able to create an .exe backup. I uninstall the Sprite BU program and went to restore it, and receive a "certification...trust" error and suggested that I re-install the Sprite BU.

I don't understand what happened? So I used SPB .exe backup'd file to restore, that would for the first time in 2 months without ANY ERRORs! Prior to this restore, I encountered many, many, many errors from the restore process NEVER from backup process. Go figure...

Re: best HTC Touch Pro backup software?

Alas I am still on the fence between SPB and Sprite. I had such high hopes from Sprite reading this thread.

I got more and more frustrated with SPB due to many errors I encountered from the RESTORE PROCESSS, I repeat restore process NEVER-EVER from the backup process.

People need to qualify their voting with a holistic approach, include their experiences with both backup and restore processes. I think this would help many people.

Also from my limited sampling, their are some points favoring both SPB and Sprite.

From backup process
SPB: smaller file size 115MB vs 121MB, breaks up into two files a generic SPB initiator .exe and then the dated .exe file name.

Sprite: One file .exe

Stay tune for restore process....

Re: best HTC Touch Pro backup software?

I use SPB. I've done a lot of backups/restores, it's been flawless.

I used to have Sprite on my Treo and had a big issue after a restore (programs wouldn't work and I had to reinstall every program one by one--yes, I was pissed off--).

P.S. Don't we have a stickied thread about this?
