[update 5/17] SensorScroll v0.7 beta (now with touch action!!)

1 Attachment(s)
The new version just came out today. It is a neat little app that will let you use the scroll wheel of you Touch Pro or Diamond to scroll up/down in windows that allow scrolling (pretty much anything with a scroll bar). There was a old thread here about the first beta, but it hasn't been updated in months. It was also linked to in the G-Sensor Applications/Games thread. Great app, just thought it deserved it's own thread, especially with its new version.

v0.7 out now

SensorScroll uses the HTC Touch Diamond/PRO Gesture Wheel to scroll up and down inside windows which allow scrolling (has a scroll bar). It can also emulate key pressing instead of scrolling.

The xda thread can be found here, with the official manual found here.

The coolest new feature added is the support for touch gestures. Double tap the center of the d-pad to toggle on/off the the touch action. This will now let up pan up and down and left and right, just by touching that portion of the d-pad.

It was suggested in this post over at xda. This pic shows the "hotspots" if you will.

Changelog:

Quote:

v0.7 (17.05.2009)
- Fully changed working principles. Should be much more stable and compatible now.
- Added support for screen rotation. Read the manual about the 3 key screen rotation.
- Added support for process identify. Read the manual.
- Added handling of power notifications. Now it should consume almost no CPU when suspended.
- Added support for preventing the device to go to suspended state while using the d-pad
- Added support for vibrate feedback for "touch gestures switch", "screen rotation", "process identify"
- Fixed problem with saving/loading settings with non english versions of windows mobile
- Fixed problem with double tap working not only for the center button, but also in other areas (home, back, call, end call)
- Removed process enumeration in SensorScroll Settings. This caused more problems then it solved.

Full version history can he found here

v0.6 (31.03.2009)
- Added support for touch gestures. Try it http://forum.xda-developers.com/imag...lies/smile.gif Thanks go to player911 for this suggestion. For more information check the manual
- Added AppToDate support
- Improved the way SensorScroll imitate scroll/keys. Now it should work in more windows.
- Improved the way SensorScroll handles gestures
- Fixed a nasty memory leak
- Fixed a small bug in SensorScroll Settings resulting in not displaying the default item when the settings file is corrupted.
- Removed cprog.exe from no_process.txt (now it works in Call History, etc)
Notes:
Inside installation folder there is a file named no_process.txt. The file contains a list of process names which will not be affected by the application (or by SensorScroll Settings). It already has some entries like opera, teeter, etc. You add/edit/delete these entries, with these instructions found in the manual.

Taken from the xda thread:
Quote:

Instructions:
1. Install the application. It adds shortcut in Programs and in \Windows\Startup folders!
2. Right after installation you can run the application from Programs shortcut to start using it. There is no need for soft reset to have it running for the first time!
3. To use the application open a Window with a vertical scroll bar like Programs or File Explorer and try rotating the scroll sensor clockwise for scroll down and counter clockwise for scroll up. Don't forget to try the touch action too (double tap on the central button to switch on/off and touch the direction keys)
4. To fine tune the application behavior use the SensorScroll Settings application
5. Have fun!
6. To stop, run it again and you will have an option to stop it.
Known issues:
* Does not work with GScroll ! Both programs act like they have disabled each other

If you are using version 0.5 I recommend to move the file \Program files\SensorScroll\settings.dss to another location before install. You can import it using SensorScroll Settings if needed.

Re: [App] SensorScroll v0.6 beta [3/31/09]

I had messed around with scroll bar widths in the past, but completely forgot about it until now. Thanks to this fuzemobility article, I've completely removed the vertical scrolling bar from my screen. SensorScroll just works to well to have both, and I never liked the scrollbar anyways. Also, removing it will give more more screen space as well.

Either use Advance Config to set the Vertical Scrollbar width to 0 pixels, or you can make the following regedit:

HKLM\System\GWE\cxVScr = 0

I actually saw your fuzemobility article about sensorscroll after I posted this update, which is where I got the idea to remove the scrollbars completely. In that article was a link to the fuzemobility article I linked in post #2. Great idea, forgot it could be done, so I gotta thank you for that write up.

(Also, you can embed that image into your signature instead of linking it. I detailed how to embed the image in a post (although the steps are the same for your sig as well) in my PPCGeeks New User Guide, post #2 about halfway down. However, xda links don't embed, you gotta up it to something like imageshack or even your site would work.)

Glad you like it. I really feel like this is one of the must haves, something that should have already come on our devices. Great use of the scroll wheel.

Glad you like. Definitely one of the essentials, just like the Fart Machine. Genius developer whoever that was .
