Well, see with CDMA, when you browse the net it uses Ev-DO channel which is designed for data. But when you text or make a call, the phone has to switch back to 1xRTT channel, which "breaks" the data connection for a moment.

Not your phone, it's just the system's limit. Of course if you can't stand it, GSM on the other hand does not have this issue.

I suggest you use a wifi connection while on a call. Use a bluetooth or wired headset for the call, send your text while on the call and be online via wifi. That should work, give it a try.
