EPST & DMR questions
 

I cannot use dialer codes with my current setup/ROM (Sprint TP running on Verizon) so I figured I could run these two programs right from the exe in Windows (this has worked for me in the past)

I cannot get it to work right this time however. When I click the DMR exe absolutely nothing happens & when I click the EPST, it seems to work except it goes to something called EPSTlab (whatever that is) & none of the normal EPST settings are there.

I really don't need either function at the moment as I have made all the settings/changes etc that I need to, but I really don't like being completely locked out of QPST & EPST??

Did you try using Sprints dialer codes instead of Verizons? The first time I switched my Sprint TP over to VZW I needed to use Sprints to get into those screens.

Yea, I've tried every combination I could think of (& 3 different dialer skins) as I've run into this before but absolutely none of them work.

At this point, if I needed to change anything I would have to flash to a different ROM & make the changes, then flash back & restore a Sprite BU.

Some custom dialers interfere with the ## data entries. Maybe try a different dialer or the stock one if you aren't using it already. Otherwise you could try this ## code fix.

As I stated, I have tried three different dialers (including the stock one). I assume that cab does the dial parser phonecanvas edit??

I had already made that reg edit manually as it has worked for me in the past but it doesn't work now for some reason.

Install carrier cab for VZW?! This should fix it.

No, that's one thing I haven't tried as all functions (data/voice/sms/mms etc etc) all work fine.

I've heard of everything working before but no EPST. After carrier cab is installed EPST works again. Hope that helps and doesn't create any other hurdles for you.

I'll give that a shot tonight, I can't connect to my work computer with AS for some reason.

If it messes things up I can always reflash & restore, that's no big deal really.

I was just wondering if you ever got into EPST again? Just wondering for future reference. Did you install the carrier cab? Did it mess up your already working data settings at all?

I did, but not with the carrier. I flashed to Mighty 4.16 last night & after that running EPST directly from the exe in Windows worked fine.

I still haven't figured out a way to get DMR to run however, clicking that exe does absolutely nothing (& ##3424# doesn't work) so I can't open the modem port to get into QPST.

Have you tried ##34245? It probably will not give you any different results, but worth a try anyway. That is the other # code for DM-Router mode. I'm sure that Rom you're running has .net 3.5 as well?

Also, you can execute dmrouter from your windows directory.... what you are missing is you need to open it using "/DIAG" parameter... use total commander of gsfinder to find the file then hold on it dont tap... you should get a drop down menu then click parameter and enter /DIAG

Maybe that will work for you. Check with other Mighty users also. See if anyone else has the same experience with that rom. If so, what are they doing to connect in DMR mode? Hope you figure it out, as I want the answer to, in case I ever have the same problem.

i've been having issues with this lately too.. thanks for the post to remind me..
I had tried all the above before, but this morning I realized my carrier cab was old. I just installed dcd's sprint 20090109 and now all the codes work!

also before the fix I was using baf's msl to get into epst.

##34245 gives me a recording (call cannot be completed as dialed)

I am running net 3.5

running DMRouter with the diag parameter does not work (nothing happens)

I will try installing the GC carrier cab tonight & see if that makes any difference.

Actually, now that I think about it I think I will leave well enough alone.

I have no need at the moment to use QPST & with all the problems people have been posting recently with Sprint phones on Verizon service I think I will leave it be for now.

I have a HIGHLY HIGHLY customized Sprint TP working flawlessly on my Verizon account & I don't want to chance messing that up & locking it out of the network.

yup, it broke my data, and iota fails.. I'm trying a sprite restore, while I hunt for iota's replacement..
anyone know how to get the "Update Profile" & "Update PRL" for sprint?

As I posted this morning, I can get into EPST by running the exe from the Windows folder. What I can't do is get DMRouter to run which prevents me from using QPST as I can't open the modem connection in the phone.

I don't blame you for leaving it alone. I have run the VZW rom from the start and am kinda scared to change it at this point. Since it is working. However, it was only about 2 weeks ago I hard-reset by accident, kinda'. After that I had to call VZW for a DMU reset. They did so with no hassles. In fact he did a DMU key and a new A-key. No problems since.

hey this is slightly related didn't want to start a new thread. can someone lead me to somewhere that explains the settings in the epst i saw it somewhere on this forum before but now i cant find. i have a sprint touch pro. thanks in advance.

you can restore all of that by running an official spt rom and letting it customize which will run the epst.exe

hmm, interesting.. I just went back and looked, and I don't even understand the chain of events that lead to my problem, cuz it was 6 MONTHS ago!
obviously I got it all figured out looong ago.
