maybe its work related. i've had companies that wanted calls at specific times, and i got in trouble for not calling. i've made up excuses, like oh, the phone was busy, or, i tried but didn't have enough signal...

It worked flawlessly. I played calm and casual and that I did call. Said person demanded to see my call history. So, I played along.
