CAB files showing as documents?

I am on a Mac first off. Why is it that when I download a .cab file, sometimes it shows as a .exe file and works just fine and other times it downloads as a document and doesnt work at all?

I pretty much taking a shot in the dark here since I don't own a mac and I don't know too much about how they work, but maybe the mac didn't download the whole file when it shows as just a document.

Have you tried redownloading the file when it does this?

I am a mac owner and have no issues. Do the files show as a doc or exe on the mac or on your TP?
