Text and email notifications no longer work

The phone no longer vibrates or makes noise. Any idea what causes this? Everything else works fine. The MP3 player plays music, the phone rings when it's supposed to. I get audible alerts for appointments. Just these notifications have ceased working. I'm at a loss.

you might want to check the setting in settings/sounds and make sure that Event Sounds are On. One thing I found out is that the ringtones and event sounds can be seperate.

I use PhoneAlarm and have forgotten to register it with these results
