Black me. BlackMe is a PocketPC 2003/Windows Mobile 5/6 tool that turns the screen off while you don’t need it. It’s also possible to set a timeout to turn the screen off every time interval you select. You can use it while logging gps data (for example with WMMiniGPS), when you connect your device to the desktop to sync/recharge it, when you’re listening to music with an mp3 player, etc … The best method to use this program is to associate a button to it (through Settings->Buttons). When the button is pressed, the screen should be turned off. You can turn on the screen pressing the d-pad central button. Press it again to close the application or press the associated button to turn the screen off again. I usually just hit the power button and it switches off the screen for me, the only advantage i see is the scheduled timeout option. If you find this tool useful, please donate to the developer. here, simple and easy...
psshutoffxp gives u sleep mode, soft rest, power down, and hard reset(dbl tap).. and if ur a s2u2 user you can sleep the stock WMP, by activating s2u2 and then usin the power button to sleep the display..(you cant however change tracks like this, only if u use s2p can u sleep and change songs still as well) edit: forgot the file lol |
Re: hack to make TP sleep without headphones hooked up?
change this in your registry or add it if you are missing it:
hklm\software\microsoft\mediaplayer\preferences UnattendedPlayback = 1 (decimal) soft reset and you're set |

so do I edit new key, string value, binary value, dword....? then type that (UnattendedPlayback = 1 (decimal)) in? there are 4 entries under preferences LocalCacheReserve RemoteMethod WheelKeyPressD... WheelKeyRepeat... thanks folks, I don't know what the s2u or the other thing is so I probably don't have them so when I have the headphones hooked up and hit the button at the top is that putting everything other than the media player to sleep or just turning off the screen? Am I the only one that thinks htc put on a real tard show by cheesing on the plug in receptacles on this thing? Like I want that goofy box on the end of a string hanging out of my phone! I'd rather the phone be bigger to accommodate reasonable hardware plugins. |
Re: hack to make TP sleep without headphones hooked up?
so can anyone point me to a good tutorial as to how to make this registry modification? I really don't want to mess it up and I still am not certain exactly how this is done.

Re: hack to make TP sleep without headphones hooked up?
If using WMP, you can just assign a button within WMP to black the screen.
