Touch Pro Screen is on crack
 

Recently my touch pro screen has been acting like its smoking crack. The screen is very jittery, can't use the thumb scroll, more constant jittering, half and half of a screen, and the phone gets ultra hot when i try and charge it. I thought this would be a hardware problem. Any potential knows whats going on with my addicted phone? Sorry if this question has been asked a few times but I could not find the answer to my question.

Maybe it could be a program you installed recently? or it could just be a broken phone?

welcome to the battlefield soldier! have you soft reset? downloaded alot of 3rd party apps?

Thanks for the quick reply. I didnt program anything in the phone and i never dropped it. It seems like it would be a software problem.

I would try a hard reset and if its still acting up its the phone.

I tried both the soft reset and the hard reset, neither did anything.

It like the whole screen get skewed i.e. like right now the scroll bar is in the middle of the screen and the globe is in 3 pieces.

i wonder what would break it though. I'm ultra careful with the phone because it just looks fragile, my mogul was a bit more rugged.

hahahah weirddddd, definetely try a hard reset, otherwise if you have TEP, i'm sure sprint would agree your phone is faulty

It is a bad ribbon. Take it in for a new one.

I was going to say it could of been a theme you installed. But you said you haven't installed anything. Which makes me think its the phone.

Weird, have you spilled any liquids on the phone, normanly water causes these types of issues, if not then i suggest calling in for a repare, or if you have insurance you can get a new screen or a refurbished replacement.

Depends on what parts they have. From the sounds of it, you open and close the screen so much that the ribbon going to the screen is being scratched and that causes your screen to act weird.

No not at all. I keep it in the holder all the time when im not using it.

Never thought about it that way. I do use the keyboard alot. I will take it in to sprint tommorrow.

Hey, don't mean to purposefully bump this thread, but were you ever able to get this issue resolved. Unfortunately, my phone started doing the exact same thing yesterday. booo.

*sigh* I first bought the Sprint (HTC) Mogul last March and that died in mid-January this year. I got the HTC Touch Pro as a replacement (nice!) and loved it.... Until it died on me... The keyboard just stopped working. So Sprint sent me another brand new Touch Pro. Now, less than a month later, my Touch Pro is having the exact same problem as listed on this thread.

I left this one bone stock to make sure I'd have no problems with it. No software installed, etc. It gets very hot when charging and the screen becomes garbled to the point of being useless. Sometimes sliding the screen will fix it, sometimes it won't. I'll be contacting Sprint for either a fix or another phone again, but I have to ask now...

Does HTC make a phone that actually lasts over a year???

I'm a heavy user of my phones... Email, text, phone, etc... Are the sliding screens just that bad? Should I ask Sprint to trade this for a Blackberry? I can't keep replacing phones like this. It's too big of a hassle.

Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.
