GPS help

Hi, i never use the GPS so is there a way to remove it to save up program memory and memory usage?

Re: GPS help

Open the case, desolder the gps chip, close up the case, enjoy your new paperweight.

Short answer to your question is "No".

You can, however, turn off location services in the settings\phone dialog, which will disable the GPS functionality, thereby saving (minimal) battery life.

GPS doesn't take up program memory to my knowledge and when its not enabled or the phone is off I don't believe it draws any power. I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: GPS help

If you really don't want it you can remove the SYS files before your cook your ROM.

There's usually the HTC GPS Drivers, and a Carrier Specific GPS Driver... Neither one of these are a memory hog...

and they are not loaded until you start using the GPS...
