EVDO/1x issue...
 

Most of the time I have bars in my house and it will say I am in EVDO coverage, but my problem is when I make a phone call or answer the phone, it will automatically switch from EVDO to 1X EVERYTIME. Does anyone else experience this? Can anyone help me with this problem?

Note: I can't update the radio due to having a mac with no bootcamp for XP but I have updated the PRL.

Nope, like I said, it's a feature, hehe. It's the way it works. Every time a call comes in/goes out, the phone will switch to 1x, pause data transfers and take care of voice, once you hang up it'll switch back and continue normal data operations.

kk, I didn't notice this til recently so I was thinking it was switching me to roaming or something. Don't want to get dropped from Sprint like the other poster here is...

No... neither one means roaming. You're good. You'll know when you are roaming because a little new icon will show up... It looks like an elongated triangle...

Just as Nimdock stated you are ok...

Voice/SMS will always go on the 1X network.
